Review – Mercedes SL500

Hello!, Now most of you who know me will be familiar with my system of training and mentoring of the market in the Internet business, but you can not be so completely familiar with my passion for fast cars!

I was fortunate over the years have had access to some of the best cars that money can buy and have driven thousands of miles around the UK and Europe. I also thought I can share my experiences of some of my cars and give Warts and all their review. Vehicles that I will be reviewing over the weeks to come are:

Mercedes SL500

Mercedes SLK350

Porsche 928SE (classical)

VW Toureg
Lets start with the SL500.

Mercedes-Benz SL500 is still regarded as one of the most aspirational car currently available. The combination of the name of the sharp cupé combined with the incredibly intelligent roof of this car is one of, if not the most attractive of cars of all time. The cabin of an air quality and the plastics in the dash across the feeling to be well manufactured. The doors, like most of the door two cars are very large and if you decide to crack down the local supermarket for sources that you have to be careful about where you park, I lost count of the number of times I parked in what I considered to be a safe place & away, simply to return to my car to find that someone had parked so close that I could not get in through the door! When the roof is up and you drive in that mode of cupé the space for luggage is good, more than enough room for a couple of games of golf clubs. However, with the roof down the boot the size is reduced dramatically, the roof has to go somewhere!

The SL500’s performance can only be described as suitable while the car is considered to be fast it is fast in a way uneventful boring. The crossing of the road is a dream and if you are lucky driving along a German Autobahn you can quite happily cruise along at twice the speed limit UK. The performance of the car is more refined than I like and do not take staff long before that day that you’re dreaming about getting behind the wheel of something a little more raw!

The automatic gear box, as most of Mercedes, is smooth and efficient. If you try to use the box in manual mode with the keys is small rogue blades on the back of the steering wheel that you will probably find the changes a tad slow and the experience of driving is not at all out!.

The suspension is good and soaked up all the holes but the largest of the pot. There is a button to adjust the height of the circuit so that the speed hump is not an issue. The steering is reasonably precise for a car this size but I once again I find myself looking for a faster response. The steering box is slightly stronger than excited.

Sentence
The SL500 is an excellent all round the car. It is comfortable, highly (ish) and useful on a daily basis. If I would have to recommend a model I would say that if the performance is not an issue after going to the SL350. If however you are looking for something more exciting and you have deep pockets to opt for the AMG follow, you will not be disappointed.
